Donna L. Colburn
Donna has over 20 years of experience in the areas of Quality Assurance and Quality Management. She has been implementing ISO-9000, TL-9000 and QS-9000 as a trainer, consultant, and auditor in a wide variety of industries but specializes in business aviation.
With four years of service in the United States Navy, Donna has held positions as a Quality Assurance Supervisor, Auditor, Instructor, and Control Material Officer. Donna was with the Department of Defense for eight years and served as a NAVSEA Submarine Safety Certification Auditor and NAVSEA SUBSAFE Certification Lead Auditor. She has conducted quality system certification audits on the 688, Trident, and Seawolf class submarines, and was the Lead Auditor on the 688 and Trident class boats. Donna has performed product verifications and procedure reviews of contractors' procedures, practices, and systems based on Mil-Q-9858A requirements. Her professional knowledge also extends to government contract bidding and all phases of offset printing.
Donna has worked as a business improvement consultant for over 10 years. She assists customers in developing and implementing internal training programs, processes, procedures and manuals, as well as acting as a project manager to develop strategic programs and process map their organization for the purposes of business improvement/definition.
Donna has been consulting, training, and auditing in the aviation, telecommunications, automotive, chemical, service and manufacturing areas for registration to ISO 9000, TL-9000 and QS-9000, as well as working with areas within the Department of Defense to help them achieve compliance to ISO 9000. Donna has also assisted companies in business start up and improvement activities by working with them to define their processes, goals and objectives and measurement systems, with particular emphasis on Customer Satisfaction.
Donna has developed a wide variety of courses, including Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor, Implementation Courses, Process Mapping Courses, Project Management Courses, Team Facilitation Courses, Customer Loyalty, etc.
Some of Donna's clientele include FlightWorks, Sky Partners, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler Corporation, Pentastar Aviation, United Airlines, Motorola, JDS Uniphase, Technaplas, Flexsys, the U.S. Navy, the Maryland Center for Quality and Productivity, the Byrd Institute, Hughes Missile Systems, Titon Technical College, and W.L. Gore.
Donna is a registered Lead Auditor with the Registration Accreditation Board (RAB) in the United States and also holds Registered Lead Auditor status with the International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA) in the United Kingdom. Donna has successfully passed the TL-9000 Auditing and Metrics and the QS-9000 AIAG registrar training course, is a standing member of the ASQ and has participated in ISO 14000 training.
